I love colour. It's an addiction. For as long as I can remember I have been covered from head to toe in vivacious patterns, textures, and graphics. Remember when I bought my Jungle Jacket? That piece made me fall for the bright palettes I sport so often today. Since that purchase, I have dedicated myself to bringing my culture, personality and background into my wardrobe and my everyday life, and this photo series demonstrates it.

Taking Clothing from an Elderly

One of the best things about going on vacation with your parents is you never have to pay for anything. Food, drinks, even your lodging is all paid for, if you're like me you can even swindle in a free flight! Nothing beats hanging out with mom and dad.

My mother is one of those women who understands my needs, she gets that when I am frustrated with shopping at JC Penny, she rounds me up, buys me a burger from In 'N Out, and takes me to the grand central of all vintage shopping.

We finished our burgers and went for the Saturday everything is half off sale at the thrift shop, and may I just say that when pieces are $2 regular price, half off is like taking candy from a baby. Or in my case, clothing from the retired, which, to be honest, isn't that difficult to do!

I came out with some great finds, and it cost me nothing, my mother racked up a bill of about $10 and with that came color, patter, trousers and not one, but two pairs of shoes! Check it out!

If a Stephen Burrow’s dress isn’t in full swing its not doing its job. When Burrows is on board it glide with the tide.

Back during ’73, was the "American Runway Revolution" and best believe the beat was banging and so were the ensembles. Alva Chinn, Elsa Peretti, Pat Cleveland and Norma Jean Daren can attest to that. If you’re caught still in a Stephen Burrows best believe trouble will ensue.

Dress like the African man Can

Its insane how many people are scared of prints and pattern’s, then there are others who only live in vibrant color; Duro Olowu is one such person! His recent collection for J.C Penny will have you on your knees, your wallets empty and you husband furious, but that’s okay because you’ll look GREAT!

Its clear that his influence stems from his home town in Lagos (in Nigeria.) I mean the floral and tribal prints mixed fresh black and whites, its no wonder JC Penny was on bored! Back in 2004, Duro launched his first collection and immediately attracted a strong fan base; Ikram Goldman, Sally Singer, and Barney’s fashion-director Julie Gilhard to name a few, it's obvious that Olowu has a talent for the vibrant. It’s nice that those of us who make minim wage can afford his pieces, regularly jackets and dresses retail around $1,000, but at JC Penny we can nock a few of those zero’s off!

If you’re ever having trouble mixing prints have no fear; Duro Olowu can show you how. Since his African roots play a big role in his creations you should be okay creating sensational ensembles. Check out your nearest JC Penny; bring your wallet and leave your husband at home, because things are about to get a whole lot brighter!

The Color Kings

Nothing like Sicilian fashion, bright colors, ample textures, and elegant structure ; Domenico Dolce and Stephano Gabbana, are time and time again awing the audience and causing fashion mavens [myself included] to watch their runway show over and over.

This seasons menswear collection was hot, steaming and stunning. Well dressed boys, teens and men walked down the runway wearing some of the most vibrant shorts, shirts, jackets and jewelry. The entire collection excited and energized the audience and the music made you feel like you were being transported to the streets of Sicily.

I love that Dolce & Gabbana tailor to all ages; kids, young men, and grown gentlemen. Nothing like bright colors and bare chested men to start your day.

As Long as I got my Suit and Tie

Fashion, especially in menswear, can be boring; navy blue and black are the only colors men tend to wear. Please tell me I am not the only one who's bored stiff?

For spring and summer, suit jackets and khaki shorts are the way to go, but as the weather begins to cool, we have to put our pants back on and head back into chilly weather and indoor heating. Many designers have designed amazing, well tailored and structured suits just for that very reason, and require strong, independent men who aren't afraid of color to put on a brave face and apply some brilliance.

My favourite collections for this upcoming season are Dolce & Gabbana, Mugler, Louis Vuitton, and Andrea Pompilio; they've all got color and the perfect amount of crazy. When working in an office setting, there is a time and a place for dawning a fucia pink suit and tie, but that would not be the place. But your whole life (hopefully) won't be spent in the office, so maybe it's time to investigate into creating and wearing some crazy and fantastic suits that will stop conversations and turn heads. ;)

I love menswear, but the basic black and navy is making this world a very boring and color free place. By adding a brilliant tie, or a funky patterned shirt you can change your day and appear a little more creative in the office. While the sun is still shinning take advantage of the vibrant colors on the runway. When designers create collection they are thinking of you, so give the creator some piece of mind and dawn we now our gay apparel.

Fashion weeks are some of the most exciting times of the year. Thousands of fashion hungry individuals gather together to celebrate the newest collection for the upcoming season. Street style is off the chain, hair is sprayed and excitement bubbles through the veins of many. Celebrities, socialites, bloggers, photographers and lovers of style all gathered in one city to give recognition to some of fashions best designers. Men's fashion week is one of those times where many come together to encourage their favourite designer to do what they do best. This season we are seeing a lot of colour, shapes and textures, men's suites have become colourful and awe inspiring. Each season we can depend on our favourite clothing creator to put forth a jaw dropping collection that will no doubt have us gushing and leaping for joy. Hurray for mens fashion week 2013!
