This dress was found in the Salvation Army in Parksville. I saw it sitting in the wrong section, when I picked it up and saw the colours, it first reminded me of sand storm. I had to have it. The jacket was found during a vintage crawl in Kensington Market, I love Toronto for its finds and no matter how much the price shop keepers are always in for a good haggle.

The shoes are again from the Sally Anne, but this time, one in Arizona. I saw them sitting on a table outside. I slipped them on, took a few steps and knew I had to have them. My mom got me the sports bra for Christmas a few years ago, sometimes I wear it as a top.

These photo's were taken about the same time last year. The air was sharp, my socks on, and my iPod blasting. I knocked through an entire Justin Timberlake album (I won't tell you which one) then moved on to some Toni Braxton, Brandy and LL Cool J to keep the energy high.

I wasn't thinking too much about what I was photographing, only when I arrived home did I realize I shot most of these photo's in monochrome. I wasn't bothered.

It's funny what your eye sees and what music will make you conscious of. These photo's are all in the "upward" direction. My mother taught me, there is no point in having your head down, have your chin level with the floor and you'll never miss anything. This time I had my nose in the air and my head in the clouds.

Enjoy your day. Breathe deep, keep calm and be aware of others.

Be cool, don't jump to conclusion and enjoy the scenery around you; take your own photo's. You'd be amazed at what your eyes see, your heart tells you and where your headphones can take you.

Frustrated when walking into shoppers and all you can see is cosmetics with labels longer than the Declaration of Independence?

Looking for a boutique that carries only all natural products, but won't leave your bank account dryer than the Sahara desert? Welcome to The Cure Apothecary. A beautiful shop dedicated to giving your skin the healthy glow it deserves. Products here have been brought in from all around the world and their labels are short and concise.

I sat down with Natasha Goel and asked her a simple question. "What made you want to open this shop?" "I was sick of never getting results," were the first words out of her mouth and with that, we were kindred spirits. She also pointed out to me all the fun and beautiful items in her boutique. Soaps, body bars, hair shampoos, skin scrubs (my personal favorite,) all from companies I didn't recognize, but was easily excited to learn about.

Natasha is clearly on the right path and health junkies, myself excluded, will be barreling down her door to get their hands on some Barber and Fritz (from Vancouver) Triumph and Disaster, Old Factory Soap Company, and North Standard.

Like you, I loath Shopper’s and the only time I go in is to mail things to my mother, or grab some late night munchies, other than that, I avoid it like a plague. When it comes to skin care I would much rather walk an extra mile and get the best Toronto can offer, from no other than, The Cure Apothecary.

Sweet Tooth

Last night, I got lost. I'll admit it. I began walking down a street and then I turned and then I looped and I ended up in front of a church. I looked across the street and there was a beautiful bakery and everyone inside was wearing plaid. I walked in.

The first thing you're captivated with is the scent. It smells mouthwateringly delicious the moment you step through that door. Next you see the pastries and the mixers. The quaint little bench and you automatically feel at home. The staff are friendly and are quick to take your order.

I snapped a few more photo's ordered and 'Oreo Cookie Cupcake' and was on my way.

Monster Mode

WTF? No, seriously; check this out. Last spring Paris hosted “ARRR! Monsters de Mode.” A freak show fashion exhibit that sees the beauty in the ugly. Personally I think …. never mind.

Hatched by Angelos Tsourapas and Vassilis Zidianakis this, beauty in the beast fashion exhibit features some of the worlds most adored designers; Hideki Seo, Alexander McQueen, Craig Green and Issey Miyake. These are [obviously] not everyday pieces, but fashion is art and these designers are artists, needless to say the monster mash was a screaming success.

I think of Paris as a place of luxury and class, but then I hear their hosting exhibits like that my head is thrown into a tizzy. Its hard to see the appeal in these creations but sometimes beauty is, simply in the eye of the beholders…. Or, something like that.

Whoever said menswear couldn't be elegant?

Ricardo Tisci is one such designer that can make any material sing his praises. This season was no different. With fall on our heels [sadly] Givenchy menswear has made sure that even with the weather changing you will look sleek and dapper.

Long handsome jackets, straight leg trousers and graphic prints in soft hues; this collection is undoubtedly ready for the tides to turn. Tailoring plays a significant role; with organza and satin, the utmost care is involved! This collection is careful, a mix of grunge with a soft edge. So once again I'll ask; who said menswear can't be elegant?
