Haunting for Christmas
03:28Make-up on the catwalk this season is all about being bold, strong and different. Make-up artists are taking the "cute and cuddly" and turning it around a full 180. Don't believe me, talk to Costume National, Givenchy, John Paul Gaultier, Yohji Yamamoto, they're all going to the dark side. Helping to bring a darker, more haunting essence to their collections designers have opted to reveal a stronger, more sinister look for their fall winter collections.
Who knew that Lady Gaga would go to the dark side? Well, everyone, honestly would you expect her to do a hot pink bottle of perfume, no, neither. Her 'Fame' perfume bottle is one of the most bone chilling capsules on the market, and would make an interesting gift for Christmas, I don't advise it, but for the Lady Gaga fans out there, this would be the gift that surpasses them all. With the haunting veil of mist that would be sprits out with each finger push, would render only surprise when the scent is released. The smell that jets from the bottle is strong, but satisfying it's exactly what you would expect Ms. Gaga to exude, it's bold and profound, just like the musician herself.
Dark and sinister is not for the faint of heart, sure it may seem gothic, but quite the contrary; it's optimistic and interesting. Taking inspiration from Siouxsie Sioux in 1983 and expelling it from a bottle is exactly what Gaga has done. John Paul Gaultier expressed his alluring values with clothing for this winter's collection it was all about breaking the boundaries and damning Santa Clause and all his elves to the dark side. It's always darkest before the dawn, am I right?
