One item that sticks with me like glue is my vintage jewlery. Maybe I shouldn't have said one- its more like 20- but eh, who's counting. Since I was a child I've been fascinated with jewels, pendents, and creative broaches the stylish ladies of my church wore. But never did I relaize that the attraction would take me so far. As you may know, I live in Toronto and here people have an equal love and affection for jewels as I do. I'moniq is my go-to-gal when it comes to jewels and accessories. Since we've met a few months back, I've been checking her tweets and facebook notifications constantly to see what's coming out. I also fell in love with Manish Arora who stems from New Delhi, he's taken a spin on traditional wears and have made a breathtaking collection for the jewelry queen such as myself.
Drop Dead Diva brought me to this gentlemen but since then he’s become the office weirdo in Matthew Weiner’s “Mad Men.” I always think about pinching his cheeks and plucking his eyebrows but alas I cannot. However, Ben Feldman is an amazing American actor, native to Washington DC, he is known to many as complex ‘Michael Ginsberg' but he’s “not just the office goofball anymore.” Don’t worry folks, he isn’t cut, he will continue to baffle and make you blush for a sixth season. Hurrray!

Never a day in my life have I
cared for Vanessa Hudgens, but then she began popping up all over my Tumblr dashboard
and thus I fell in love; with her style. Since her High School Musical days
she has grown into bohemian cutie with an exceptional eye for floral prints,
cute shorts and awesome shoes! Earlier in the spring I picked up a copy of
Paper magazine and low and behold Ms. Hudgens was on the cover. I read her
article and moved on. She doesn’t interest me on a social level, but her style
is unique and always flawless.
Mothers tuck your children away, fathers move couches and teens lock your doors. We’re talking nudity, youtube and 20 year olds "t'werking".
Monday morning media maven
Miley Cyrus has done it again. In a span of 24hours the 20 year old pop star
has hit the big million mark! Her newest hit “Wrecking – Ball” features Cyrus
swinging seductively from a wrecking ball, licking a sledgehammer and crying
naked [all in one video!] SORRY Syria, but this is cray. Remember when she was
grinding on poor old Robin Thicke, well this is just a little more exciting.
Canadian fashionista’s always interest me. We always forget that Canada has allot of homegrown dressers, and for me especially, I forget how many of us there are. We can all remember names like Jeanne Becker (Fashion TV) and Caroline Issa, (fashion blogger) Kimberley Newport-Mimran and Joe Mimran (Pink Tartan.) But there are SO many other style maven’s that we NEED TO TALK ABOUT!
-Lets talk about models; the
gorgeous and newly bobbed Coco Rocha has been turning heads for years now, but not just
on the runway but all over social media realms and magazine covers. Coco has
remained a strong, steadfast, model that continues to impress the world as an example
to young women.
-“Don’t work for under
$10,000 a day.” That has been Linda Evangelstista’s motto since the beginning. The
St. Catharine's native with her cropped hair and legs for days has been gracing
the covers of high fashion magazines and countless catwalks since her rise to
fame in the early 90’s.
-Dries Van Noten, Jill Stuart,
Moschino, JPG, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, the list is endless, and Alana
Zimmer’s has walked them all. From
Kitchener to MBFW this girl has taken the world by storm. If you’ve ever seen
her grace a runway you will understand just how amazing she is. Her legs extended to the heavens and so does
her influence in fashion. She’s a classic minimalist with a flair for the
perfect bag!
-Back in January the lovely
Yasmin Warsame enriched that month’s issue of Flare magazine in a gorgeous
rouge Marchesa gown that would make your heart stop. The African-born, Toronto-based
model has a knack for tugging heart strings and a figure that could sell couch cushions.
-Personally I have a female
crush on the last model; Kristen Owens is a rugged meets 'the girl next door.' She’s modelled Thom Browne, Helmut Lang, Yohji Yamamoto, and Ann Demeulemeester.
See a common theme here people? Hence why she’s the GURNGE girl, with the blue
eyes from next door.
Canada has so many amazing
designers, media personnel’s and models. We always forget that we are home to
many of the world’s top fashionista’s. Sometimes I wonder where they got the
itch for fashion, but then again some of us are born with it.
