To think that a 12 year old couldn’t design would be ludacris. Maria Nina Ricci began an apprentiship at 13 and by 1932 she opened her own fashion house with Raffin. Her effortless desingers, romantic façade and her formidable femininity gave way to what the world knows as one of the most saught after designers. By 1950, Nina Ricci was 70, her studio was still creating breath taking collection seasonally. But by 1954 Jules-Francois Crahay was appointed head designer for this fearsome fashion house.

Only after learning for the worlds greatest can you then become great. Oscar de la Renta has become just that. During his early years he was trained by noted fashion designers Cristobal Balenciaga and Antonio Castillo. Then from Elizabeth Arden to Christian Dior, Bill Blass, Calvin Klein, Balmain, and Baron de Gunzburg he designed for them all. After leaving the Dominican Republic at 18, Oscar de La Renta knew he wanted to be a designer and in 1965 his very own couture label was launched.

Patrick Cox was born and raised in Canada and at 17 he flew the coop and moved to Toronto to begin his own fashion label. Due to Partick’s love of nightclubs he encountered many who shared a similar passion for design and as a result he accompanied Vivienne Westwood in designing a prototype shoe for the well accomplished runway model Naomi Campbell. The 'Clint Eastwood' collection was showcased in 1993 with Ms. Campbell sporting the 9” platform during Paris Fashion Week. From then on Patrick Cox’s insatiable talent took him from nightclubs to John Galliano’s studio.
