Fashion has no Age

Young and Spunky

It’s hard to fathom that 11, 12 and 13 year olds have amazing fashion style, but they do. I believe that you’re never too young or too old to start dressing for success. It’s adamant that parents teach their children to dress, not just for success, but also to be taken seriously in the future.

Elle Fanning is one of my favorite dressers; at 13 she strives to create fashion forward decisions and in 2010 for the premier of Somewhere, Elle was wearing a stunning pale blue Marc Jacob’s dress. While most 13 year olds are wearing jean shorts and tank tops from American Eagle, Elle is tinkering with different labels such as Mui Mui, Gucci, Chanel, Alberta Ferretti, and Burberry, very sophisticatedly for someone so young.
“She’s the go-to fashion person in the family. Elle knows every single model, every single collection and every single piece in each collection. She has a real passion and it’s not materialistic way” –Dakota Fanning. Teen Vogue Interview
Elle will continue to dabble with fashion, and at such a young age she does it in such a classy way. I look forward to where she goes next with her fashion; the sky’s the limit with Elle.

In 2011 Willow Smith was spotted at the Dolce&Gabbana fashion show with her mother Jada. Willow was wearing a bright orange shirt and matching jacket, black leather pants and holding a darling leopard print clutch. After that Willow went from 'whipping her hair back and forth' to eyeing up the catwalk and hanging around established couture designers. Willow has created a retro punk chic look for herself and being only 11 years old she fully understands how to dress in a style that makes her stand out, she almost resembles a younger Lady Gaga. I am so glad that she has not followed the trend but has created her own. She recently shaved her head and rocks it. Some critics say it’s too much, but honestly you’re never to young to experiment with fashion and color.

It  takes a lot of gumption to be your own person in Hollywood, and these two spunky young ladies do it with such class. I am overjoyed that both their parents are willing to let their children dress as they please and I hope the two girls continue to bend and modify their style to suit them and no one else. Cheers to them.
